The San Antonio Spurs are definitely the most heavily supported sports team in the San Antonio area. You will find many of these supporters on the Trinity University campus, with many students attending the games. With big NBA name stars like Duncan, Ginobili and Parker, they certainly display an entertaining show. Currently ranked 2nd in the Southwest division of the Western conference, the Spurs have a good chance to make it to the playoffs, being three games behind Dallas. Furthermore, while being second in the Southwest division, they are fourth in the Western Conference, a position that could change either way over the course of the season.
The San Antonio Spurs often have University nights where students can buy very cheap tickets for only ten dollars. By lowering prices for students they raise attendance and provide a fun environment for students to cheer on their hometown professional basketball team. This Friday, January 22, the Spurs will be having another of many Trinity University nights. I will be attending this night at the A, T&T Center, having already purchased my nosebleed ticket for ten dollars. In this game the Spurs will be playing the Houston Rockets, and hopefully the large number of Houstonians at Trinity University will turn out for this game. The Rockets are right behind the Spurs in the Southwest division, only by two wins. This should be a big night for both teams, and I advise one to attend this exciting game.
